A ChangeWave survey of 4,413 consumers, conducted March 20-26, takes a close look at smart phone demand going forward.

Buyers target iPhone 4S

Two quarters after its release, the iPhone 4S is still showing momentum among respondents planning to buy a new smart phone. More than one in two planned buyers (56%) saying they’ll get an Apple iPhone in the next 90 days – up 2 points since the previous survey.

The following table reflects the percentage of respondents who plan to buy an Apple or RIM/Blackberry smart phone over the next 90 days. As shown in the table, the level of demand is the second highest ever recorded for Apple smart phone buyers in a ChangeWave survey.

Demand for the other major smart phone manufacturers remains little changed since December, although we note that Samsung continues to outperform among consumers after an explosive leap in last quarter’s ChangeWave survey.
