The close of the third quarter is just around the corner—time to prep your investment portfolio for winners and clear out the losers.
This year’s second quarter was a mixed bag. According to FactSet, 70% of the S&P 500 reported earnings above mean analyst estimates and 53% came in above mean revenue estimates.
Unfortunately, Factset is projecting a weak third quarter, with nine of the ten S&P sectors reporting a decline in estimated earnings growth.
Of course, there will be surprises on both ends of the spectrum.
