If I have to read one more article about the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas this week, I’m going to infect my own computer with a destructive virus. Over the last week, we’ve been bombarded with countless reports about the best, worst and most useless products at CES, many from companies we’ve never heard of.
Then it dawned on me that Apple (AAPL), Microsoft (MSFT) and Amazon.com (AMZN) were nowhere to be found. They were not there hawking their latest stuff to the masses — so how relevant can the CES really be? (Yup, that’s a rhetorical question.)
It turns out there are a few really good reasons why the three behemoths were busy and just did not need a side trip to Vegas. Let’s start with Apple.
