Remember when General Electric (NYSE:GE) brought good things to life? Given GE’s historical depth and breadth of invention, it could certainly make a case for that truth.
Today’s GE mantra is a bit different, at least according to its website. Now, it’s more about “inventing the next industrial era to move, power, build and cure the world.”
For both General Electric and it shareholders, that plan will take a long time. Do you have the patience to wait it out—no matter how long it takes—to see markedly improved share price performance and dividend increases? Does GE have the right stuff to make either happen?
There’s a good chance the answer to both questions is no.
